Horses are amazing animals and unfortunately are very good at hiding pain by compensating and still trying their hearts out for us. To achieve the best from our horses their muscular skeletal system needs to be functioning to the best of its ability and be pain free. Physiotherapy on your horse can help them to maintain their best performance whether that be as a competition horse; an older, retired horse; or anything in between – they can all suffer from pain and discomfort. Maintenance physiotherapy can also help to identify the areas of weakness and help to build strength in these areas – minimising the risk of injury and helping the horse to be as comfortable as possible and function to the best of his/her ability.
As much as we try to protect our horses they do still sometimes become injured and if they do – physiotherapy can help to optimise the healing process. Whether this is a traumatic injury, just a tweak or a musculoskeletal condition, physiotherapy can help to optimise the horse’s biomechanical function enabling them to be pain free to perform to the best of their ability.

- Loss in performance
- Behavioural changes; bucking, rearing, napping, jumping issues
- Struggling up and down hills
